Shutter works without batteries
The FM2's mechanical shutter fires at all speeds even with dead or removed batteries — only the meter needs power. A camera you can trust in any situation.

Condition: Used body — cosmetic wear consistent with age. We test shutter accuracy, film transport, and meter function before listing. Lens not included unless noted separately.

The Nikon FM2 is one of the most celebrated 35mm SLRs ever made. Introduced in 1982, it built on the original FM with a faster 1/4000s top shutter speed and an exceptionally durable shutter assembly — the titanium-shutter version is rated for an extraordinary number of actuations. The body is compact, all-metal, and purely mechanical at its core: the shutter and film transport work without any battery at all.

Manual focus, manual exposure (with a helpful match-needle or LED meter depending on variant), and access to the entire Nikon F-mount lens library make it a favourite of photojournalists, street photographers, and anyone who wants a camera that will outlast them. If you want a forever camera on the Nikon system, the FM2 is the one people keep coming back to.
